President’s Message— Zulema Suarez
Dear Fellow Kappans,
This year the executive board chose a theme on which to base much of the year’s work on. Our theme for this year will be a “Positive Look at Education”. As a board, we hope to provide members with some professional development opportunities. We will host a traveling scholar, start a book club, apply for a project grant opportunity, and do a “Walk for Education.” Our newsletter and website will contain the dates for all upcoming events. We hope to motivate all PDK members to become active in our events. The projects that are being taken on this year, directly reflect the mission statement of PDK International:
The mission of Phi Delta Kappa International is to promote high-quality education, in particular publicly supported education, as essential to the
development and maintenance of a democratic way of life. This mission is
accomplished through leadership, research, and service in education.
We welcome any members to join our committee. If you would like more details, please feel free to email me anytime. I would like to take this time to personally thank all the members of PDK and especially the executive committee. Their tireless effort and dedication have kept PDK thriving throughout the years.
